Toxin Vacuole
Modified Vacuole which produces OxyToxy NT
, an agent that can be fired as a toxic projectile. Superior version of the Oxytoxisome.
Requirements
A cell must have a Nucleus to evolve Toxin Vacuoles.
If organelle upgrades are enabled in game settings, both of the following conditions must be true for the player cell:
- Has engulfed at least 10 cells throughout the game so far.
- Contains at least 1 Oxytoxisome for at least 5 generations in a row.
Processes
OxyToxy Synthesis: ATP
+ Oxygen
→ OxyToxy NT
Produces OxyToxy NT
, much more efficiently than Oxytoxisomes. Rate scales with the amount of environmental Oxygen
.
Modifications
Toxin Type
Select which type of toxin this Toxin Vacuole fires. Cells that can fire multiple toxin types will alternate between them for each shot.
- OxyToxyNT: A strongly damaging toxin based on oxygen causing cellular damage. Less effective against species the more oxygen-using parts they have.
- Cytotoxin: (default) A simple damaging toxin that deals a consistent amount of damage.
- Macrolide: A toxin that slows down affected targets.
- Channel Inhibitor: A toxin that inhibits the ATP production of affected cells, potentially slowing them down or even damaging them.
- Cyanide: A strongly damaging toxin targeting oxygen metabolism. More effective against species the more oxygen-using parts they have.
Fire Rate and Toxicity
Decide the balance between fire rate and how effective each shot is.
Effects
If a cell has at least one Oxytoxisome or Toxin Vacuole, it can shoot toxin projectiles, draining stored OxyToxy NT
to do so. These projectiles damage cells of other species, but don't harm members of the species that fired them.
Damage scales with the amount of Oxytoxy NT
fired.
Increases Oxygen
Resistance by 2%.
Upgrades
No upgrades.
Strategy
Similar to that of the Oxytoxisome, though with more efficient Oxytoxy NT
production and without the benefit of Glycolysis to produce metabolic compounds as well.
