The Aware Stage begins with the player controlling their species that has just developed a nervous system and gained sentience. They will experience generations of evolution until they have evolved full intelligence, or sapience.

Overview

Aware stage is the largest and most important "animal" stage of the game. To reach the aware stage, your multicellular species must attain a moderate level of intelligence. It is in this stage of the game that evolution will be seen in all of its glory, and that the biome will be of utmost importance. Awakening Stage follows Aware stage when the player begins to use tools.

Transitions

The stage starts when the player has developed a central nervous system and their species becomes aware of their surroundings.

The stage ends when the player has increased the brain capacity of their species enough for them to reach sapience and gain the ability to develop and use tools.
